Default 100NL, BVB Battle: Turned Flush with KQdd

100nl on Stars

Folded to Hero in SB who makes it 4 with K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Villain re-raises to 12. KQs is obviously a strong hand relative to the range of hands that I would open with from the sb, so my choices are between calling and reraising. I think that calling and outplaying my opponent post-flop is clearly the right play here because my hand plays well post flop. If people take a different line against an unknown with no reads, I'd like to hear thoughts on that as well.

Anyhow the main fun is post flop.

Flop ($24)

9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I thought the pot was SLIGHTLY too small to c/r allin because I anticipated a flop bet of between 10-15 from the villain (we each started with 100). I decided to weak lead/3b allin.

I lead for 10-12 iirc. He disappointed me by just calling.

Turn ($46ish) is the beautiful T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I'll stop the hand right here. What are you preferred lines for maximizing value.

against unknown, keep betting and expect him to call with whatever he thought was good on the flop...it's BvB
if called, push river

make a smallish bet, like 25... villan can call with any over pair, 2 pair etc, and he may even think he has some fold equity if he has like AdX.
and then river becomes a super easy shove if he just calls.

but your attempted b/3b flop line is no good.
you cant expect villain to fold any hand he raises with on that flop, unless he happens to have complete air (which is very unlikely).

either ch/r all in (stacks are actually perfect for this), or bet pot and call a shove.

wait, you wanna 4bet KQs pf?Unless villain is some super agro monkey, this is asking for problems.

As played, C/r, or lead half pot call shove.

yeah the more i thought about it the more i realized that c/r ai is actually really good with these stacks esp. if he bets close to the pot... as played i like your advice about leading again on the turn for a somewhat smallish amount, a la the installment valuetown route. i c/r'd ai which i immediately realized may not have been the best way to play my hand
