General advice on opening with 15bbish

I usually raise 2-2.4xBB and I will sometimes raise/fold. Raising smaller makes it easier to not raise too tight.

Interesting. I guess this can also make your opponents second guess themselves as to the reason for the small raise. i.e. make them think you have a monster and want someone to call?
