Default $570 AQ n reraised pot v. db

First time I've played him HU, so don't know a lot about him, his Sharkscope is mediocre.

Tough spot :

neglecting board texture on the flop, id be leaning more towards a fold, the only ace we have beat is A10 and were not sure he 3bets that.

because there is a flush draw on board...

AK,AJ still beat us but the problem is his small bet on the flop, it gets me thinking this is either AJ,JJ and hes trying to get value out of any other A, or KK,QQ firing a <1/2 pot sized bet trying to find out where he stands.

If u think in any way he put u on a flush draw and will still fire on the turn with KK, QQ its a definite shove. (although i really doubt this scenario)

but i think were behind alot of the times here to JJ,AK,AJ.

Id fold here.

( im sorry my posts are long and sometimes meaningless but im doing this so that later on i can read what other better players have to say and compare)

I would have re-raised with ace queen on the first hand . I wouldn't try to get cute by just calling against an unknown opponent .

You cannot exclude a-8,a-9,a-10 as possible hands that are strong enough for a re-raise btf . You lose to a-j,a-k,jj but you can beat a-8,a-9,a-10 .

I believe folding is a bit too tight here , especially on the first hand .

Its the first match, not hand.

If we dont fold, a shove only gets called by better hands.

A raise to 850-900 leaves us either crippled if he shoves and we fold or even comitted to call a shove.

A call leaves us with no information what so ever abt villains hand and if he bets the river .. we wouldve wasted 300 chips..

Raising here is awful here IMO because you are only getting called if you are crushed. I'd call this and call river.

Actual hand:
Hero calls

River: 10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

BB shoves, Hero still calls?

Hypothetical: Say the flop were A93 instead of AJ3, easy calldown?

The only thing worse than that is 10 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

I'd probably bash my face into the fold button.

I hate calling the turn here I think. Seems to me you're giving him a much narrower range of hands to assign you and lets him play more appropriately against you.

I don't think I've played db, but if he plays how I think he plays I would probably shove the turn.
