I have AA and he cr shoves the turn
Villain is DrewzerMT or something. He plays TAG 20/16 or so. We don't have much history (that I can remember). What do you make of his cr shove on the turn? Note that he over-limped and then called my raise. fwif I recall that villain took a while to call flop. I can't recall how long he took b4 shoving, but I think he tanked for a few seconds.

Re: I have AA and he cr shoves the turn
Probably call. You'll see a draw here a lot of the time like KQ diamonds, Q10 diamonds, K10diamonds.

Re: I have AA and he cr shoves the turn
Would he play 55 like this? Seems like the most reasonable hand for his line. Other possibilities include hands like KdQd. In general, I don't think you're in great shape here, this guy's range doesn't include many one pair holdings, and he can't have the As combo draw.

Re: I have AA and he cr shoves the turn
Seems like a set of 5s.
AQ,JJ,QQ,KK would have raised preflop, or maybe limp/rr'ed. 55 might limp/call, then c/c set followed by CRAI despite the draw-heavy board on the flop. JQs might be possible, as is 9Ts diamonds or spades. KTs seems a little loose to limp/call OOP. 66 seems unlikely to just c/c the cb on the flop. So, vs { 55, QJs, Td9d, Ts9s } the aces has 31% equity. Pot odds are a little worse than 2:1. So, while it's close, if the range is accurate, then this is a fold. Add that calculation to the Baluga Theorem which would indicate that c/c followed by c/r is generally a monster and I'd be inclined to fold. However, if your experience at this level of play leads you to believe that villain's range is wider for taking this line OOP in a raised pot, then calling is good since the decision to fold is very close under the range that I've estimated. Edit: For example, if as one poster stated, his range might be this wide {55,KdQd,KdTd,KsTs,QJs,QdTd,Td9d,Ts9s} then you have 44% equity and the ~2:1 pot odds demand a call. |

Re: I have AA and he cr shoves the turn
I think his range is weighed heavily towards combo draws/huge draws, stuff like Qx[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]s, Jx[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]s, KT[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]s, T9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]s, 5x[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]s, T9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]s, and KT[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]s, etc. With his overlimp, the only legit hands I would expect to see would be QJ or 55, possibly 56 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. You have decent equity against all the 2-pair hands (8 outs) and are far ahead of the draws. Call.

[ QUOTE ] omg instacall. [/ QUOTE ] Please expound. what hands do you put him on? [/ QUOTE ] Meh, I was initially thinking he had some sort of pr/diamond draw or combo draw, but I don't think he's limping those types of hands preflop. The trouble is....he only can really have one hand here that beats you, which is why I'm leaning towards calling here. |
