bankroll requirements for hu tournaments?
tried searching on here but can't find anything. I am currently playing the 11+1 turbos on stars and would like some recommendations on when its safe to move up to the 22s. Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: bankroll requirements for hu tournaments?
If your winrate is 60% or higher I would say 20 buyins to take a shot, if you lose 5 take a step down.
Otherwise take a bigger shot when you have 30 buyins. If you are winning 55-56% or lower at the 11s I would wait until you can boost your winrate over 200 games to something closer to 60%, otherwise the variance is going to be a lot higher for you. You can also take shots, say you end up 5 buyins for the day and are playing well. Play a few 22s, if you win keep playing, etc. A lot of it has to do with comfort as well. Some people take shots at 20 and have no problem moving down, some people like to wait for 50 buyins/until they are completely comfortable moving up. Hope this helps. |

Re: bankroll requirements for hu tournaments?
I would fall in the "pansy" category. I played 5s until 100, then did 10s until 1000, and now i've done 20s and im at 2680, waiting until 3k to move up to 30s.
i am not comfortable at all unless i have 100 buyins or more . The first time i moved to the 20s i got up to 1200 and then lost it all down to 90 by tilting all my money off like a moron... that won't happen again. I'm kinda glad it happened in a way... you learn a buttload after having that happen. |

Re: bankroll requirements for hu tournaments?
You lost over 50 buyins? That's nuts. If you have no plans to move down if you lose I guess closer to 50-100 buyins is probably best...
