I would guess that traffic to Politics is far lower than its # of posts rank.

I will say that iron gets a lot of undeserved flack. If he were an ACist per se, there would be no complaining what-so-ever. Iron has the patience that I know I wouldnt have.

After lurking some more, IMO, as long as politics is full of AC'ers it will continue to suck. It's not even that the AC'ers are all bad posters, it's that ancap is such an extreme worldview that even rank and file "moderate" libertarians think they're nuts. As such, they generate huge arguments and continually hijack threads simply by existing in numbers. Again, it's not that they're intentionally trolling, it's that an ancap answer to "should we do X/is law Y a good idea?" is "why is it "we", and why do we even have laws A, B, and C that lead to Y?" which makes the average two party voter's eyes pop out of their sockets. The "shove all AC'ers into their own ghetto thread" idea was a good one but nobody was gonna go for that, and it's a poker forum so their beliefs get more traction than usual.

This is very true. If Iron is willing to put in the work to keep it so it isn't an embarassment to 2+2, you might as well have it.

As a semi-ACist, I fully agree that most of my ilk are righteous crusaders that use the dogmatic response of "the state is totally inefficient and you are an idiot for not letting people make their own choices."

While I fully agree with that statement and will back it up at any time, it doesn't SAY anything meaningful. Yeah, so what, you have this very logical and great argument that few socialist-leaning people can effectively counter. That doesn't do anything for the movement or for your personal credibility.

Sigh. This is why I am no longer active in politics anywhere.
