All excess money must be used firstly to buy sweet threads, and secondly to buy shares from strangers at double the market price.

[/ QUOTE ]

Perhaps you could use the $4k to buy some sweet threads from the religious cult and post them here, since it seems you're all out of them?

Well the money lost is gone and gone for good you can't even consider it anymore, that's a fallacy. The stocks and bonds are worth what the market will give for them not what they used to be worth. Right now you have $4,000 in assets, if over the long term you think the price will go up you should hold, if you wouldn't buy the stock because you think it's a bad value then you should sell.

Update!

Tonight I was having dinner with her. She said, "You know what, it doesn't really make sense that you only take a loss when you sell. I mean, once the price moves, you have a profit or a loss already right?"

I'm like "Yeah"

Anyway, I didn't remind her of her previous thoughts on the subject! Am I whipped?

garcia,

I'd take that win and put it in the bank without saying another word.

Then, two years later after she cheats on you, I'd whip it out and dry my tears on it.

Okay, some background, my girlfriend and I are talking about stocks because it's the hot trendy thing where I am. So she mentions how she has a few crappy overvalued stocks and she is waiting for them to go back to her purchase price before selling.

I ask her, "But if they are crappy and overvalued, why not sell them now when the market is hot?"

She says, "But then I would take a loss!"

I say, "But what does that matter? If you think they are worth $20 and the market is offering to buy them from you at $40, why wouldn't you?"

She looks at me like I am an alien and says that I don't know how to buy stocks.

So the is with me. Then I ask her about the scenario above with some guy offering to buy at $40 when the market is trading at $20. She says she still wouldn't sell because it would be taking a loss, she'd wait until it got back to $100.

So I say, "WTF? That's stupid, no one would do that!"

So she says, "O RLY? Everyone would do that!"

I say, "Let's put it to a vote then!"

She says, "Sure!"

Now she angleshoots me by saying OOT isn't representative, what's my next move OOT

[/ QUOTE ]

Steal all her stuff and treat her like dirt. When she tries to dump you tell she has to wait until you treat her like when you first met or she'll be taking a loss. Then SIIHP
