Tom Petty doc
Anyone catch this on the Sundance Channel? It's called Runnin' Down a Dream and it was directed by Peter Bogdonovich. It's pretty incredible...4 hours long and really in depth...if you're a Petty fan, it's a can't miss.

Crap - I'm a huge petty fan and missed it - Hopefully they'll have lots of reruns. He's easily top 20 all time.

[/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] I'm halfway done with it...pretty incredible...lots of old footage of their Mudcrutch days and their first few tours...and an incredible sequence where you see Petty and Stevie Nicks in the recording booth laying down the track for Stop Draggin' My Heart Around. They're working on the harmonies and Jimmy Iovine stops them over the mic and has them do it again until it's what we hear on the record...pretty cool. |

I'd love to see this. I'm a big Petty fan. Unfortunately don't get that channel, but hopefully it will come out on Netflix or something soon.

Re: Tom Petty doc
I gotta see this. I read an interesting story about Petty when he first got to LA and was still naive about the music industry. He was in a phone booth and found a piece of paper someone had left behind. It had the names and number to 20 or so different labels and managers around town. Did they talk about that in the movie?
