Re: PCyay satellites start today
I think the first month of satellites will be tougher in general with all the good players looking to get a seat.. then after that you have the good players who want W$ and some who don't bother so at least you don't deal with them anymore.
When I first looked at the DSO's a couple years ago I thought it would be not that difficult, but then after a good amount of S&G experience, I found it tough to win 2 in a row, and the fields in the DSOs are probably tougher than the fields in a 55+5 S&G (at least pre-legislation).. DSO's test every part of your game (full-ring, short-handed, HU) so it can be tough against better players. There will be donks in every type of tournament/satellite, it really just depends on who gets the donks chip first to build up a chip stack. Personally I like the Sunday 650's from what i've seen in previous years.. from what I remember you usually have to build your stack up to 35-40K then rely on people's obliviousness of proper satellite play to take you down the home stretch.. I've seen big stacks going at it for no reason a few players away from the bubble, it's ridiculous. 33R's only usually give one seat, though they are soft and the field thins once the rebuy period is done, so it's sorta like overlay even if there's no overlay |
