You should have bet the flop... keeps the action/info more reliable. Now they may take advantage of your check and you know it and because of your second guessing, you will call or even push allin turn with the worst hand.

the flop check is interesting. i liked it when i read the hand, but i dont know if it would have even crossed my mind. i also like the bet on the turn. the case for a draw at this point just isnt as strong as the case for a set. when he has a draw the situ is good, but not as good as his situ will be when u call and he has a set.

Is it bad that I would really only lean to push with like 67/910/club draw in this spot instead of a made hand like tens?

Is this a spot where our hand isn't a huge factor?

I don't like it.

I like a fold here tbh. I would only pull this move if I had some history with this guy. Especially given the fact that hes passive moves me more towards fold.

He could easily show up with 33 here over 40-50% of the times.

my main reasoning was "hey he can't check twice there with anything better than what i have, but if he's on a draw he's got a lot of ways to beat my and i dont know which they are, so, lets get it in now and maybe he'll make a bad call"

[/ QUOTE ]

Don't ever you see people check twice with hands that can beat TT here?

[/ QUOTE ]

If he was a random fish, sure, they do all kinds of crazy stuff, but I don't expect a presumably winning, moderately aggressive regular to do that (should he expect a bet on that turn after we check the flop through?)

[/ QUOTE ]

fwiw i check big hands as sb more often than i bet them. its not that often that a 4-way raised pot gets checked around twice and this hand is a great reason why. if its not you betting tt then its often the other two betting their midpairs. then you guys wanna put them on a semibluff and shove... why wouldn't a strong hand be c/ring here?

Is flop check standard? Seems like hand is easier to play and you can take out the guess work on the turn if you just bet flop.

Even though it seems like a good spot for villain to bluff this is very rarely going to be a bluff IMO.

i often merge my range by betting a huge range in the SB in this spot, including sets - but if TAGs stack off this light to non-aggression, it makes sense.

eh, if you can't put him on a set, it's a halfway decent play. still, you're going to get called by everything that beats you because you're somehow still repping exactly what you have. i suppose no one ever C/Rs a jack there.
