Where did you come up with the idea about writing about this guy? I'm a reasonably avid golfer and I'd never heard of him.

I have a small publishing company, and I publish one of his books.

Here's my update for Jan. I started running adsense on 1/8/07.

Page Impressions: 7717
Clicks: 348
Page CTR: 4.50%
Earnings: $95.56
Avg. Click: $0.27
AdWords Cost $6.83

I just did some standard ad placements to get a baseline, and I'll probably fool around with them a little, along with an affilate link or two. I also ran a small AdWords campaign that came in just under $7.00.

But I have a couple of other ideas for another site, that I was thinking about. I'm wondering if it would be better to go after a small niche that you could basically be the only one serving it, rather than a highly competitive market.

As an extreme example: would it be better to do a site on how to crochet pink baby boots than one on baby apparel?

That's great, but you need to remove all the info pertaining to it. It is against the Adsense TOS. If you can't remove it, see if Sniper will do it for you. TOS See #7 Confidentiality.

Baby boots would be better.
Not as many searches for the topic, but a bettter chance of ranking well in search engines.
Plus, traffic should be very targeted and hopefully more likely to click on a relevant ad.

Hey, where exactly did the earnings come from? All from people clicking on Adsense links?
