..... I stopped reading How to dominate after 100 pages, same information over and over again.

p.s: comments coming from a limit player.

[/ QUOTE ]

Thats a shame...many of the people who liked the book say the best part starts in the second half.

As an author, I think he did himself a disservice by not getting a serious editor to work on it. It's very difficult to get through the first half of the book, especially with all the problems that distract intermediate players.

Thats a shame...many of the people who liked the book say the best part starts in the second half.

Also, while I really liked NLTAP and SSHE, it's pretty clear that Ed Miller just doesn't play much no limit and he's not going to be able to give much depth like Angel's book does.

SSHE is a limit book.

Yes, I know. That first part of the sentence was meant to compliment Miller before I said I don't think he's a good NL player. SSHE doubled my winrate at limit. (Also, Miller didn't actually do much with NLTAP.)

I've seen him play and talk about NL, and he just doesn't know as much about it as he does limit. My statement about him wasn't based on those books--I jsut brought them in, again, to complimetn him before I said I thought he didn't know squat about NL.

FWIW, "how to dominate" author has an article in the latest edition of one of the popular poker magazine... can't remember which one. saw it at the local bookstore... BLUFF or Pro Poker Player..

anyhow, i really enjoyed the writing style of the article... the parts i read were somewhat obvious, but i did enjoy it.

Thank you, smbruin22. It's nice of you to say so.

The magazine is Poker Pro. There will be a new issue on the stands in a week or so. I'll be in it every month.

sam, i liked the article and i probably owe it a better read than the few parts i did read.... the A4s was somewhat obvious stuff. but i'm a fan of making sure you don't make big obvious mistakes (as a start).
