Transferring Large Files
Team,
I need to transfer a 400mb pokertracker database overseas. Obviously, I can't burn it to CD or trasfer it to a usb disk etc. Due to time differences, I can't set up a direct send (though MSN, IM, IRC, or anything else like that). How do you suggest I transfer the file? |

Re: Transferring Large Files
you could just grab an ftp or http server, and send him the address, then when the transfer is complete, disable the server. Either that or you could use a torrent, but that is probably more complicated. Http server or choice would be Apache, FTP server of choice would be, WS or Serv-U I think.

Re: Transferring Large Files
A cd has space up to 650MB. A DVD I believe is 4.7GB. Pokertracker is much easier to transfer if its in postgres form. Then just do a backup to a file and burn the single file to cd/dvd. If you are talking 300Giga Bytes, then just purchase a portable hard drive and ship the hard drive overseas.

Thanks team.
The correct answer I discovered is "Yousendit.com" (if anyone's searching in the future, i thought this might be helpful) |
