Yeah you are right on this one, I didn't pay enough attention to his raising stats. What I don't agree with though is that you don't have to call the river, what lines of villain could you possibly hope for that would make you call on the flop but throw your hand away afterwards... Yeah sure he could check it down but that would be a small portion of the time.

Say I have AQ, with the same board and action. I'm never folding the flop but I'm probably folding the river fairly often.

FWIW, his line looks like a monster. Min 3bet on the flop, check the turn to induce bluff, value bet river.

I probably chicken out on the river and just call even thought all we lose to is a set.

I ended up folding the river. I found his line very suspicious at the time but after the hand I second guessed myself. And it seems I can atleast call the river profitable. Oh well.

I'm not having a go or anything, but how anyone could even think of folding the river for that bet is beyond me.

that is so horrible i don't know what to say. he's 33/25, which at FR means he's a bad player. bad players overvalue TPTK, so this could be AK and less likely A2, and even less likely AT.

You are losing to two hands, and that is AA and TT. if you don't call this river, then you have to shove.

i don't fold against 33/25/xx guys.

there is only 1 combo of AA, 1combo of TT and 3combos of 22

AK/AQ is 16
AT is 4chops
A2 is 6more you crush

folding seems like burning massive amounts of money for no reason

also it seems you probably shouldnt play as deep

get it all in. Why did you check turn? You are missing value. Can you really be that scared of a set, considering he raised pf? Plus he is 33/25, i think with those stats you can easily stack off here and not fell too bad about being beat by 22/TT/AA. Especially as 1 reason why you call with A10 pf is that you want to hit 2 pair, and now that you have hit your 2 pair, u back down. I think that because you are soo deep u are getting more scared than you should be. River is definate call. Fold is terrible.

I call the river. I think if we raise and get called then we're toast and I'd much rather call and get a note out of it than raise and fold out a weaker hand. I can't see shoving for value making any sense at all. If he raises a stack then he's only getting called by sets and AA is a pretty big part of his range imo. PF is super standard, I think folding is a leak in this spot.

As a no-limit noob, I'm not criticising OP, but you called his reraise on the flop.
And the turn probably didn't improve him.
So why not bet the turn?
If I've missed something, will someone please put me straight?
