Default Re: [Simple Q] What does it mean, newbie or journeyman?

Disregarding post counts, how long would the 2p2 gurus consider someone to be a 'newbie'? I have been playing online for about 5 months, so I introduce myself in posts as a newbie. But the more I read the more I understand how complex this game really is, so I think I'll probably always feel like a newbie, even when I've been playing for years!

In one MMORPG, my name was Perman00b.

The length of time that someone plays isn't the deciding factor. Some players play for years without learning the fundamentals, while some players take the game seriously from day 1, and are able to bring their expertise from other areas to bear.

Stu Ungar had very little experience with NL before winning the WSOP main event in 1980, the first of his 3 wins.
