Default Playing on UB, ownership, bbj and rakeback.

Obviously, the recent problems at Absolute have me reconsidering my UB account. I play mid/low stakes NL. I like the games there, but.....

1. Does anyone understand the actual management and ownership structure of UB, as it relates to the "gentlemen" at AP who are involved in the recent shenanigans? I have received conflicting information on this issue.

2. Does the money I pay into the bbj show up on my MRG for rakeback purposes?

3. I find the bbj games somewhat fishier than the typical games I play on Stars, but I can't tell whether the "premium" I'm paying in bbj to sit at a slightly fishier table is worth it. Any thoughts?

From what I understand, only high stakes game on AP were effected, and that has obviously stopped. I am always concerned with security; be it potential viruses on my PC, identity theft, or someone hacking my Pokerstars password. But I also play lower stakes 6max cash and tournaments on UB and in no way do I feel any level of risk in doing so.

As for your questions I have read here that UB owns AP. As for your second question, I can't imagine getting a rakeback deal which measures all rake $ you pay and then not have that $ which goes into the BBJ count towards MGR. FWIW, my PT stats have me earning significantly higher BBs/100 on UB than on Stars since the BBJ offer commenced, ~12k hands.

1. Absolute bought UB. I have no clue as to the management structure.

2. Nope. Not even the percentate that the house keeps as an 'administrative fee'.

3. BBJ is the devil.

The above is very true, also the high stakes games were the only games affected...that being said, i flat out don't trust the management and won't be playing there anyway

FYI, I think I read somewhere that AP/UB's costs of deposits show up in your MRG for rakeback purposes.

If you are in the US you get deposit fees deducted from your MGR regardless of whether you actually deposited. This did not change did it? For the last 6 or 7 months they have deducted 5% off MGR in fees on all US players.

Are you talking about not playing at AP or UltimateBet.

UltimateBet is safe secure, they are legit and you can trust your money, they have good endorsers Hellmuth,Duke,Lederer,Lack

I don't know much about AP or the endorsers.
All I can say is to wait until the investagations are complete and see what happens with AP.

ROFL. Ultimate was purchased by AP. A simple search on this forum will show a large a number of issues with UB. Beware if you play at either one of these rouge sites.
