[/ QUOTE ] no its not the same thing, it depends how much $1k is for you how many times you want to try to double it with 80% chance every time. if "how much of your bankroll do you want to gamble with if you have 80% chance of double it" woulda been a better question is another thing..

Assuming your bankroll is all the money you have to play poker with and you're a decent winner I can't imagine how this would be EV+, or even remotely close to it in anything but the very short term. And even then it wouldn't be worth it for most of us, who would be hurt much more by losing our BR than the worth we gain by doubling it.
