The only time i've ever seen a good reason to fold AA pre was in a super satellite with some strange stack sizes and bubble play situation

this situation isn't realistic

You didn't answer the question

hmm....

well, this question is based on how much you are willing to risk as an 80% favorite. I'd risk a fourth of my after tax bankroll on that, so about 50k

OPs question was not how much to risk at one shot but when to stop letting it ride when starting with $1k.

which depends solely on one's personal aversion to risk. Which is the equivalent of asking how much they'd be willing to risk in one shot as an 80% favorite.

no its not the same thing, it depends how much $1k is for you how many times you want to try to double it with 80% chance every time. if "how much of your bankroll do you want to gamble with if you have 80% chance of double it" woulda been a better question is another thing..

Eww.. Not sure why anyone would do this. Assuming your bankroll is all the money you have to play poker with and you're a decent winner I can't imagine how this would be EV+, or even remotely close to it in anything but the very short term. And even then it wouldn't be worth it for most of us, who would be hurt much more by losing our BR than the worth we gain by doubling it.
