Default 25/50 live game what\'s the play here vs old wise type

$25/50 6-handed live game last night at casino. I sat with $5K, a big fish who wasn't in the following hand had $4K, 3 regular-ish old guys each with $9K, and 1 guy in a suit who looked 'corporate' sitting with $12K. 10 hands into the session I hadn't made it to flop. Anyway onto the hand..

I was in CO with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
2 folds, I make it $250 to go, old regular in button called. SB fish folds and BB the big stack guy in a suit called.

With a $775 pot flop came T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] giving me a huge draw. BB bet $600, I called and old guy on the button looked at both of us and took a long time then made it $2,100. BB insta folded. I got a huge draw with possibility of a spade on the turn to make it even bigger plus top pairs if K or Q falls. Being kinda new to the high stakes game I took my time thinking and looking at the old guy. He said "look, I know you haven't got it, just lay it down and let's move on". What's he trying to say here? I said "well what do you think I have, let's hear it". He said nothing and I pondered another minute, and he said "OK we're waiting, you gonna call or not? Show me what you're made of."

My instinct tells me to shove on him right here, leaving him with $2,500 more to call. What's your take on this situation?

My instinct tells me he "has it," and that you have little fold equity on a push. I don't think a push is profitable. You can't call. Your draw isn't that big against the range of an old nit.

Since when is an OESD (on a 2 tone flop) and BDFD with 2 overs that are likely worthless a "huge draw?"

This should be in the psychology forums since you know you have very little fold equity so you have to go with your 'read' on his speech play. Your draw is hardly live (note if he has aces you lose two of your straight outs plus your 'top pair outs). Even his draw combos smack the [censored] out of yours..

my take on this situation is that you shouldnt be playing 25/50.

This is a redic easy fold.

Easy fold and I shouldn't play 25/50 because I considered shoving? I did fold, and he turned over J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Sure he was ahead, but I've got enough outs and odds in this case to have shoved. He would've folded. However yes he could've had a set, or made straight, but I'm not sure such a hand plays with that much aggression on the flop. My post was to see what you guys would think of his table talk.

wait, what?

he would have fistpump instacalled.

this is a pretty easy fold because even in the best case you're getting just about the right odds on your push. but there are several hands he could have that make getting it allin here pretty -EV.

First off do not play over 2-4nl if you think you have any where near a hand at the moment. I strongly suggest you fold your hand. I think at worst he has two pair he is not going anywhere. You have 8 outs with not enough equity. I he has a set you are hurting even more.
