okay, so I'm close to 100% sure he has the nuts, and I dont want to call and see a scare card.
Close my eyes and get it in or is this possibly a fold?

if you give near 100% that villain has 89xx then by all means fold. this hand is mostly up to your own reads otherwise. i can see 2 pair/flush draw combo here or maybe less likely a set. id probably fold to a typical player.

Maybe near 100% is pretty extreme, but I haven't really seen him get TOO out of line, so lets say 85%.
He's been limping on the button a TON and then bets pot every flop checked to him. I have countered with some c/r bluffs, but I dont think enough for him to replay back at me. But maybe a better question I should have asked is "how sure do I have to be that he has the nuts for a fold to be correct?"

I'd call. He almost certainly does have the nuts but there aren't really many scare cards, only diamonds, because it's hard for him to have the nuts + a set. If the board pairs think about betting.

just push, if it wasnt a HU table I probably just call, to take a safe card as well as get the chance to bluff on a diamond or if the board pairs, esp if I had position.

note that 67T is much better (less bad) than for example 69T with the nuts and no redraw.

If the board pairs, I'd lead; but if it flushes I probably c/f against most opponents.

Can you elaborate more on this idea. What's the plan? Is it to bluff him off the present nuts if the board gets worse (kinda freeroll bluff)? Or to get away if you think he's hit his freeroll card and now has you beat? Plan on 8 or 9,diamond,board pairing and blank?

call the flop. think about bluffing a board pairing turn if he insta checks or something. get it in on a blank turn regardless.
