100/200 hand question
you have KQo in late middle postiion. You open, get 3bet on the button by an aggressive player, like 20/15/2.5/37 over a few thousand hands. flop comes AJ2, two hearts. You have the king of hearts. does anyone checkraise this flop?
I don't usually, but I did this time for some reason. The turn is a brick, I check, he checks behind. The river brings another J, J of hearts, completing the flush. I bet it. Stupid? |

Re: 100/200 hand question
Don't think it's inherently stupid. It's important to know that he's capable of 3-betting you a bit light - based either on recent hands that have been shown down or simply because he's 3-bet you a bunch in recent orbits. Some 15% guys open -raise very liberally but tighten up a lot against another open; some 15% guys just sort of play certain hands in certain positions if they feel like playing them, and don't worry so much about whether there's another player in the pot. He has to have enough 77s, KJs etc in his hand range.
I think checking the turn is probably stupid, however. You have to follow through because the KQ, KTs have gutshots, and sometimes he'll make a loose peel with the 77 type hands for meta reasons. Of course, sometimes you'll get owned by a turn raise, but this is part of the price of executing the play correctly ... and again gets back to what I was saying before about there being enough weak hands in his 3-betting range. |

Re: 100/200 hand question
if i had an ace and you c/red the flop and then checked the turn, i'm checking behind. you're either trying to c/r again or have jack.
