Best televised table-talk dis
I was pleased to see in Week 1 of ESPN's coverage a decent table-talk putdown w/ the guy ripping on that douche's "kiddy game" comment for hanging on Matusow's nuts.
OK, so it wasn't a homerun, but it's a freakin' joke how bad most of the smack-talking is that we see on TV -- I've vowed that if I ever make a televised final table, I may be the first to go BUSTO, but I'll pwn the table w/ verbal jabs (when they're deserved). What's the best insult smack you've seen at a televised table? |

Re: Best televised table-talk dis
1)After getting Matasow to fold a big hand.
Layne Flack: go ahead, ask what I had? Matusow: Alright. What'd you have? Flack: You BEAT!!!!! May not sound funny written but if you saw it on TV it was hilarious. (WPT Season 3 Aruba Event) 2)On HSP Season 1, Greenstein beats Hellmuth in a big pot, then asks " What was that?! I've heard of bluff betting and bluff raising, .....but a bluff call?????" It was even funnier cause it was from Greenstein who never says anything bad to anyone at the table. 3) And of course there's the now infamous Phil Hellmuth "This guy can't even spell poker" incident. |

Re: Best televised table-talk dis
Hellmuth's "This guy can't even spell poker" is classic, and you can tell it kinda embarassed the guy. He looked a little sad for having just won a pot to stay alive in the WSOP.

Re: Best televised table-talk dis
In the 2001 Omaha H/L, Scotty and Phil are headsup for the bracelet, after Phil wins a small pot, Scotty says "Oh no, if I lose to Phil Hellmuth, I won't be able to go home and face my kids."

Re: Best televised table-talk dis
It's not really a dis, but after Tony G bluffs someone in WPT Paris Grand Prix Season 3 his line "I had the heart and the commitment to the game to win this pot" is one of my favorites.
