Ok, Maybe it did not speak to me as I am mainly online player and it just looked to me like an article on B&M etiquette

Either order it from this site (ConJelCo, actually) or from Poker Mike.

Are you saying it won't be on Amazon?

Amazon Sucks but in regard to new releases, they really suck.

Mike at professional poker.com and/or Conjelco is/are the bomb.

Your opinion is always welcome and encouraged. I find Mike's dirt-cheap US dollar prices to be balanced by prohibitive shipping costs, so I go with my trusted current supplier.

FYI - There are 3-4 shipping options. Be sure to click the pull-down to see them all on the checkout screen. Single book orders that select first class international (the least expensive option) will ship upgraded in a flat rate priority envelope. This applies to the standard 2+2 sized books.

Ithought this book would be great, but
To be honest the excerpt in the 2+2 mag does not look very interesting

[/ QUOTE ]

question - what did you expect from the book? i ask because the quote was classic Tommy, it was exactly what I expect and would want to read. His specialty is in how to mentally approach the game and the adjustments that need to be made to be "one with the table".

I am a big fan of Tommy Angelo and agree with pokerpun's assessment; it was pretty unimpressive and not useful at all to an online player.

What can one say to that? A lot, but it would be hard to be polite.

If you understand the thought process behind what he's saying, it will help you become a better player (person?). If you don't, then stick to online. Your life will be easier.

Tommy's book looks like it will be closer in concept to the psychological components of Barry G's book than a traditional strategy book, but thats fine since thought process is what separates an expert player from world class players. I know a lot of very good players on 2+2 in real life because I travel a lot for business and live in Vegas, the #1 "leak" in the best of this bunch's game is not strategic; its how they approach the game where the mistakes are commonly made.

I think topics such as Quitting, Anticipation, Fears, Moving Up, Entitlement and Self-Perpetuating Tiltlessness are challenges for all players yet its one of the least addressed components of a players game. I doubt very much anyone will find a magic bullet in Tommy's work, but you will find some self improvement - if (and only if) thats what your looking for.

I respect Tommy's work, I've read his website before and I'm looking forward to buying the book. I'm looking forward to reading his more general conceptual stuff as well. I'm just saying I do not think that particular chapter provided a lot of useful insight to someone like me who plays 99% online. I wish he published one of the chapters TT mentioned ("Quitting, Anticipation, Fears, Moving Up, Entitlement and Self-Perpetuating Tiltlessness") which all sound very applicable and interesting.

re: TT: Barry's book is one of my favorites as well even with a lot of stuff that isn't directly applicable to a player like me (i.e. describing a lot of casino-centered stuff like a paragraph on what a floor man does).
