This is a fantastic new river play I've never seen before.

Hero (BB): 2,030
SB: 970

Pre-Flop: (30) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BB)
SB calls 10
Hero checks

Flop: (40) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero checks
SB checks

Turn: (40) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] [ Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ] (2 Players)
Hero checks
SB checks

River: (40) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] [ J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ] (2 Players)
Hero checks
SB checks

Results: 40 Pot
Hero showed 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (high card Ace)
SB showed T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (a straight, Eight to Queen)

I understand his turn play - I might have a straight draw, so it's logical not to put any money in the put. That way, if I end up hitting the river, he won't have lost any money.

And the river play is inspired genius. How did he know that I check the flop, turn, AND river here with 99.99% KT & .01% Ad2h? By checking the river, he protected himself completely against all four Jacks left in the deck. What an extraordinary move. He truly lost the minimum here.

I think that guys like him don't deserve to live. We don't need people that won't bet this on the river in this world.

Yea probably, thats also why he min3bet me preflop. He wanted to fold out better Txs in case we make quads.

good point.

Maybe he was afraid of a straight flush. Was it possible? These guys don't deserve to live.

Yeah, I always panic about straight flushes when I have quads.

Or when I have the low end of a straight flush (using both my cards) for that matter. (and yes, I've lost that before, so there are obviously monsters under my bed)
