Default Maybe interesting 10-25 river

3-handed, but everyone is playing quite nitty. Betting/raising standards feel like a full game.

$3000 effective stacks.

SB standard opens for 75. I call w/ 78c.

Flop is 9T4r. He bets pot 150. Sometimes I raise, sometimes I call. This time I decided to call.

Turn offsuit 6. He leads 120. WTF? I raise to 450. He thinks a bit and calls.

River another T. He checks. 1350 in pot. 2300 behind. My plan?

I think you bet $800. He will gladly call with trip 10s.

If he check raises all in I would fold and then just bust him within the next 10 hands.

no, not really, that was just a bad joke. the push looks good here, if he has a ten he might be too much of a girl to c/r all in, and if he has some other decent hand going all in looks slightly fish. he will think, "well if this diablo character has a T, and the river is a T why would he bet so much? it's obvious he could have a T so why bet so much? looks like he is just representing that T and trying to push me out." maybe, or maybe he'll fold but a push looks good. will he reall call a pot but not an all in? in this situation an all in might get called more than a pot.

Well there you go, 3 separate answers. Obviously mine is correct.

folding is nuts here, a good player will be happy to get all in with a T there. with great pot odds, it's hard for to put diablo on a set. give some credit to a 10/25 player for being decent and an agressive value raiser. without more information folding there is crazy.

i agree w/ everything bruier has said, especially this, "will he reall call a pot but not an all in? in this situation an all in might get called more than a pot."

Bruiser,

Excellent explanation. I think you nailed it. I bet 800 or 900, but as soon as I did, I thought I should have pushed for the reasons you stated.

I apologize for that comment. For some reason I forgot that this was 3 handed, I was thinking full ring. (Probably has something to do with the fact that I am 10 tabling 10/20 right now)

Anyways, I still like my $800 bet. However this time I am calling a check-push.

I think by pushing the river here you are just losing too much value. you are giving him a chance to fold his 10 if you push. He described the game as nitty.
