Weird disconnection issue

Not necessarily a technical problem but anyway:

In the past 24 hours I've twice been disconnected from both Pokerstars and FTP at the same time. It took about 10 minutes each, enough to cost me some money in SnG's.
But not only that, twoplustwo wouldn't load either during these periods. Other websites however worked fine so my connection wasn't down.
The network status on Pokerstars stated "Bad (0%)" for both PS and the US universities. Whatever that means.

Any idea what might cause this? Could the problem still be on my end?
