Default $1000 into $200,000 -60 days- doable ?? x post

I have been playing poker for about 3 Years. I play poker only as a hobby, I am not a professional poker player, nor do I ever aspire to be one.

Online, my greatest success came at Party Poker last year. I played under the screen-name Fukken_Eh. My game was 10-20 NL 6 M I would guess that I was one of the top 20 NL players on Party Poker in 2006. As most of you are aware in October of 2006, President Bush signed a bill (Safe Port Act) into law making the online transfer of funds for internet gambling illegal. Party Poker quickly restructured, closing all American’s Poker Players accounts and focused their efforts recruiting players from Europe and Asia. Without the American’s the games at Party Poker aren’t nearly as good, or as lucrative as they once we’re.

With my home site restructured, I bounced around the last 4 months playing mostly at Pokerstars. The games are definitely tougher to beat there. Most of my play has been 5-10 NL on stars, I also played some 10-20NL, and some 25-50NL. I have been crushing 5-10NL, and beating 10-20NL for about 1-2 PT BB, but getting owed at 25-50. In January, I was having a phenomenal month, but I got distracted playing high stakes Heads Up Sit and Go’s and 100-200 Limit. During a bad three day strech I tilted off all my January profits, and my entire online bank roll.

After this I lack motivation for playing, and have not played since Jan 24th. I am an avid readed of 2+2 and while browsing some of the archives I found THIS post by well known poster and online player ABA20 or sbrugby (read GOD).

Hey aba20Ive always looked up to you and I hope to someday be playing against you at 50/100 NL on UB. Heh. Thanks for doing this bro.I asked el d a different version of this question too.If you had to start from scratch with $1,000 and you were only allowed to play NL holdem cash games. What would you play and can give me a bankroll plan you would use to climb back up to the levels you play now? How long do you think it would take you?

Thanks

-Tickner

I look forward to playing against you.I would start with 100NL and play until I had 2K and jump right into 200NL being willing to move back down if I dropped $800. I would then play 200NL until I had 3500 and then I would play 400NL again dropping down if I had a little downswing. I would continue this process all the way to 100/200. I think this is an interesting question, and I feel that with 1000 dollars I could be playing 50/100 NL in 4 weeks with 200K. This would be very ambitous and require alot of poker everyday (probably 3K+ hands a day). But I still think it could be done. ( I don’t knwo if I want to try to prove it tho )

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This inspired me, it ispired me to play again to acomplish something.

Can it be done $1,000 into $200,000 ? I don’t know, but I am going to give it a shot. I am not as good as Aba20 is, but I have been working on my game the last few months and I’m definetly a better player than I was when I played 10-20NL on Party.

I don’t have the time to grind it out all day playing poker. My goal is to play about 2-3 hours a day, about 1,000 hands a day. I am going to play no more than 4 tables at a time. I plan to start at Fulltilt Poker depositing my $1,000 and playing the $100 NL game. I will only play NL ring games, and probably will only play 6max games– I may choose to play some heads up cash games on Fulltilt as well.

The plan is that I will move up in levels once I have 9 buy ins for the next level, so when I hit $1900 ill move to $200 NL, $3,800 ill hit $400NL. I will move down a level if I ever get to 8 buy ins for the previous level I moved up from. For example if I go down to $800 playing, $200NL Ill move back down to $100NL.

If I don’t run really bad at the beginning I feel that getting to 10-20NL should be pretty easy. However I think the biggest challenge for me will be from $18,000 and upward. My biggest enemy is tilt, and willingness to gamble so I hope that the challenge will keep me focused and motivated.

I will keep you updated daily, on my progress on 2+2 and on my blog . Ill post hand history’s there and mabye a video or 2??

Probably start monday. I will not be taking any prop bets on this as I not 100% confident in results.

GL but I really, really don't see this happening. I mean come on 2-3 hours a day. If you had said 12-15 hours a day then I would be more inclined to give it some chance of success.

P.S. And why grind it out for 60 days. Just win the Sunday Million today and you will go from $1000---->$200,000 in 9 hours.

you certainly could pull it off, however now with the games being a lot tougher, i dont really see it happening. OP is certainly a good player.. but in all reality.. it will be fun trying this out.. and you're only losing $1k if this falls through anyhow.

gl, and keep us updated.

GL - I've often thought of doing something similar to this, but truly there is no incentive unless there was some kind of massive sidebet for me, but I wouldn't want to risk so much money so I'd have to be given odds on the sidebet to do something like this.

If you let one bad stretch put you on tilt to break your entire bankroll I think you're pretty hopeless on this task sir. But GL for trying it

online bankroll. not entire bankroll. cashed completely out in August. Never redeposited. Sold my database. Won more... Cashed out another $100K. Resold my database.

Played the PCA, withdrew about $10k for cash games there. Had $7K left, pushed that into $70k by the end of January. 3 days of running bad plus tilt.. GG "online" bankroll.
