Re: SEC football > all other football
Sure you can point to certain games, but pound for pound, I'm not sure how you can compare OSU's schedule for this year or next to LSU's, UGA's or almost any SEC team.
That isn't to say OSU sucks, as DO said, they are a damn good team. But I do agree with him, that if they played in the SEC, they would most likely not be undefeated at this point. |

Re: SEC football > all other football
ddy, i'm not trivializing the SEC. i admit that top to bottom the SEC is outstanding. however, a great deal of the difference between, say, Florida and OSU's schedule is that this year OSU didn't have an elite out of conference opponent on their schedule (something we traditionally do have). Just as OSU plays and beats teams like Purdue, Penn State, Wisconsin and some other school to our north, Florida plays and beats teams like Tennesse, Kentucky, Auburr... whoops, ok, Georgi... damn. well. yeah, ok, i'm exaggerating a touch, because nowhere on our schedule is a four game stretch like auburn, lsu, kentucky, georgia, but still. you gotsta beat those midlevel teams. |
