1) Play at least 10 sessions of poker as I work my way up the ladder. I hope to find myself playing $3/6 by then, but I'm not making that a goal (variance is not under my control).
I got 12 sessions in, which was great, but $3/6? Ha! I still haven't cleared $.50/1 because of a mix of poor play and crappy variance. 2) Come up with something intelligent to post for my 6k post (which is coming up fast). I'm surprised I haven't reached 6k. I guess my posting has been much slower than usual. I'm deciding between a post about stagnating/stunted growth (where I've been in the last year or so) and a rant about the worst ideas in poker (3-bet and fold to a cap, raise or fold, raising to "take the initiative" in isolation of other factors, raising to "find out where you stand" -- which will sound a lot like an Ed Miller post -- and checking because you want to protect your hand). 3) Have 50 pages of TeXed up Ph.D. thesis. [b]Meh. It's 43 pages in draft spacing and not counting title page/bibliography/table of contents/misc fillers. It's 45 pages in regular spacing and 57 pages with all the fluff. I think that's good enough.
