I think we have a winner.

I can see someone say "Can I see that?"
And while they're handling it "What is it?"

I was hoping someone might link to the old post where a guy describes card guards he made from some type of translucent plastic sheet bought at a hardware store.

The beauty of the guard is that everyone can see through it enough to know he has cards but there is sufficient distortion to hide marks from opponents view. It's cut big enough to cover the cards but small enough to easily fit in a pocket without making unsightly bulges.

I wonder if the protector is still working for him (e.g. are there objections to let's say the fact it covers the cards) and would he consider making a few more and selling them.

Oh well.

If you want the coolest card guard ever then do this...chop off your finger. Then peel away all the flesh and skin and drop it in some boiling water to adequately clean it for a few minutes. Then use that piece of bone as your card protector. I guarantee you two things.

1) You will definitely have the most original card protector ever.
2) Nobody at the poker table will ever mess with you again over anything...EVER!!!

I don't know if its cool but I saw something original at Bellagio once. A guy brought in a little goldfish bowl with the goldfish swimming around he used as a card protector. After awhile he was asked to leave, I guess Bellagio doesn't alow goldfish bowl card protectors.
