This thread is turned uber retarded, thanks mainly to Predator's posts.

Do you really care whether other players think you are good or bad? Or that they bust your chops? I sure hope not. The amount you've won doesn't get taken from you because other players think you stink.

Quite frankly, I don't know why you (or anyone) would come on to this site and post using your screen names, or why players (particularly winning players) use the same screen names on different sites, but that's a discussion probably best had another time.

Besides, I'd much rather have other players think I am a donkey. And I hope that many do. HEE HAW.

After reading this post I saw Wintermute (fat_nutz) on the $75-$150 LO8 on Stars. I watched the game for a while when it was shorthanded and he sure seemed like the best player for the time I observed. I don't play near these stakes but some of the other players were making rather elementary mistakes imho, i.e. overplaying one way hands hu. I wasn't here for all drama and I'm not a fan of it on these strat boards. However, he certainly seemed to be a good enough player to make meaningful strategy contributions.

Can someone post a link to good past threads regarding pre flop raising like the ones mentioned in this thread? I've searched and can't find any.

On that note. Everyone online calls me donkey and for some reason think that I am free money or something. I get a lot of action for some reason.

I am surprised hossed and gameover are such big winners. I used to follow them around on the old party games to beat them down because I thought they were some of the weaker players. This was full ring of course and I did beat them down a lot, but still I guess they are really good short handed. Never played with them short so I dont know.

The best player is probably someone that doesnt play 2/4 PLO8 or lower. Its funny that anyone thinks that anyone that plays a small game like 2/4 PLO8 is the best on the planet. Odds are that the best player plays much much higher because he is so damn good obviously.

I believe that with the hundreds of thousands of hands that any top online player plays, that they would be able to compete successfully at a game with top pros like Farha, Matusow, Duke, Greenstein...given that they were playing a game within their bankroll.

A good example...

[/ QUOTE ]

Psychology is a big part of the game. None of the these online players have ever played with so much money on the line. The biggest games they play is 10/20 PLO8 and sometimes 25/50 PLO8 whenever it gets going, which is rare. Farha and some of the pros would play 200/400 PLO8 or higher if they were ever to play the damn game. The amount of money involved would get to most if not all of them. To go from max loss of 10-20k, to max loss 100k+ is just insane in my opinion.

Gameover is a friend of mine IRL and i'm pretty sure he would be salivating at a big game full of "pros" who don't regularly play PLO8.

Getting a full game would be extremely hard I assume. Would be great to watch though since most would play terrible.

Ask him why he's such a douchebag at the tables. A guy who wins/pulls cards from his ass like him should know better than to berate the poorer players.

are you seriously listing yourself as a better all around player than Decisions or Gasss_u? maybe you haven't played with them that much, either that or you are completely delusional.

[/ QUOTE ]

LMAO @ Gasss_u. Sorry to say it, guys, but this game is just still in very early stages, and "the best" players are not very good as a whole, meaning the top 10% in results.

The top 5 players are probably pretty strong. GAMEOVER_73 would have to be among the tops, as would Buklah if they're not the same guy, simply because they sit HU at high stakes all day and no one seems prepared to take them off. I've played BigRiskky and SirScoopalot a fair amount, and both struck me as dynamic, thinking players who weren't afraid to make big bluffs and big calls, but who seemed to stay well under control in general. Other than that, the reg winners are weak-playing nits IMO, and most are playing stakes (400PL/NL) that many great players don't care about, especially if the game's more than 3-handed.

It's all well and good to determine who's the best now, but if the game continues to grow, I doubt the 6th-10th best players today will be in the top 100 in 2 years.
