Default Big stack, what to do with QQ.

In a rebuy tournament in the first level after the rebuy.
Notes on the players.
I haven't played many hands.
BB has gone all in many times, making all ins when the all in is considerably bigger than the pot (say pot has 300, he goes all in with 10,000).
MP3 plays a lot of pots.
This information is tainted by the fact that it was done in the rebuy period, hence they are probably playing different now.

Here's the hand:
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

BB (t18495)
Hero (t13653)
UTG+1 (t6275)
MP1 (t5360)
MP2 (t5847)
MP3 (t20565)
CO (t14249)
Button (t5215)
SB (t2350)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q, Q.
Hero raises to t500, 3 folds, MP3 calls t500, 3 folds, BB raises to t18495.

Should I call? Why or why not?

In my experience that massive overbet jam is AK 90% of the time, JJ 5% of the time and other random stuff (including AA/KK) the other 5%.

I think I'm ahead so I get my chips in ASAP.

Call. If he's being a maniac, he probably has a wide range. The only hands he could hold that are better than yours are AA and KK and he won't have these hands the majority of the time. If he has been doing this and getting away with it, he's going to keep doing it until someone stops him. You are waking up with a big hand, so call and hope for the best.

In this case I thought the odds of being strong where even less. I thought AK was the biggest possibility but I knew he could do it with AJ, etc. Which pushed me for a call.

I was wondering if the fact that I have so many chips with respect to the blinds should factor into folding. Because, with the chips I had and the level of blinds it felt like I could keep climbing without the need of such big risks.

I think you have somewhat of an edge here and if you want to be at the top, you have to take these edges. You can't pass up the small edges and fold until you feel better. You'll end up blinding away at the bottom.

i would call the shove in this particular situation. many times players do not appropriately adjust after the rebuy period with deep stacks, and even when they think they are, they can shove TT/99/AK/AQ in this spot all day and think theyre going to induce a mistake from you.

I absolutely agree. The first level after the rebuy plays like level 1 of a $5 tourney, you absolutely cannot afford to miss a chance like this.

It seems like the decision was easy then. Call.

What if my hand was JJ?
Or TT?
Where is the boundary on which it is better to fold?

It is important to note that there is another person left to act too. The other guy could have a nice hand too.

A lot of people do not know how to switch gears right after the rebuy period ends. you are ahead of all but two hands and only coin flipping with one hand.

as far as what I'd call that push with, I would call it with JJ but not TT or <. I would also call it with AK but not AQ or <. I wouldn't worry about the one guy left to act. If he has one of the 3 hands that could beat you , so be it.

I would call against most players here, even a moron usually tries to be a little more subtle with AA. The fact that you are deep may be deterring you but what is your Q with all those rebuys? Looks like there are plenty of big stacks but no new chips coming to the tournament, QQ is a great hand to bring you to the top of the leaderboard at this point of the tournament.
