full std test a few years ago and nothing.

You were unlikely to have had serum HSV testing. It isn't terribly useful. It will tell you whether or not you have been exposed (hint: you have been). It doesn't really tell you whether or not you have the disease.

HSV1, is just cold sores and stuff right? I dont know if Id consider them an STD, anymore than I would consider plantars warts an STD.

both 1 + 2 are "just cold sores and stuff" for guys... The female version of 2 has some medical evidence pointing towards greater risks of ovarian cancer.

Viral shedding isn't like a 24/7 x 10% chance or anything ... herpes tends to shed a couple days out of the year and YES can give you the disease without visible symptoms. While the majority of infected people claim to be infected this way, I personally chalk that up to some dubious statistics (most people don't see herpes inside someone's mouth, nose or urethra).

The only reason that number of carriers is so high is because a substantial number of the population is immune to the symptoms of 1+2, thereby passing it off without any problems/signs/"reasons" to get tested.

/teaching sex ed, again.

i have NEVER had sex without protection (no dipping, just the tip whatever !!). Not even ONCE. when i got the hsv2 , i asked the doc how the hell could i get an std when i have been so careful every single time all my life. she said that herpes can be contracted through skin and one of my partners probably had herpes and contracted through skin to skin contact.

bummer !!

Except I thought 2 isn't "just cold sores and stuff" but is more like disgusting painful sores all over your crotch. As in, it's personally bad to get the herp as a dude in addition to the risk of spreading it to other girls.
