Betting or check-raising depends on the texture of the flop.

[/ QUOTE ]

neither betting nor Check raising is ever correct here w/o 2 pair or trips.

Hmm? Check raising the flop is correct against a huge part of his range. But only if there's some draws out there.

Are we all suddenly little girls? This is an MP raise, a LP re-raise and we flop TPTK. Not the worst of hands. If he is going to fold TT here to a flop c/r, I'm going to do that every hand.

Why would you want him to fold TT here? I'd think we would want him to call with a 2 outer for as long as possible. Same for something like AK as well, why not let him draw to his 3 outs?

I'm not sure what to do here, but it seems like almost any time we are ahead here we should want villain to call, not fold. The only hands with enough outs against us that we might be happy with a fold would be KQ (but that is unlikely for a reraiser) or a flush draw, but the flush draw is unlikely and never going to fold anyway. I don't think our plan here should be to try to get villain to fold.

i dont want him to fold TT, if he does I made a rather large mistake. Same with AK/AQ.

I usually play wa/wb on a drawless board. That is, c/c flop, c/c turn, [ugh messed up the river] any of the c/c, b/c, b/f lines on the river, whichever feels most appropriate.

If there's draws on the board I just play; probably c/r the flop and lead the turn.

[/ QUOTE ]

If J is the high card on the board and he has two overcards then the situtation is not WA/WB.

we have AJ. he never has 2 overcards. KQ is a not a 3 bet for 90% of players.

I think Honey Badger's point refers to the times that we don't have something as strong as AJ here. And that if we check-call when we have something and check-raise when we don't, we are going to become pretty easy to exploit.

OK, I took AussieBattler's advice and put my opponent PF 3 betting range and TT+, AQs+, and AKo(maybe a little tight but close I think) and plugged it into pokerstove. Against this range I have 56% equity. However, when I am ahead I have 86% equity. So based on this and the pot being small, am I correct in thinking I should play WA/WB and c/c down?

I ditto this action as standard for me.

To the folks who want to c/r, we only lose the hands we beat by doing that and stop them from putting in the money for us. I'd rather make more on the hand in the long run than play for the short term.
