Default Q8o - 0.50/1.00 Stars - Standard?

CO is just terrible. 76/1/0.1 over 300 hands. I havn't seen anyone this bad since the old party poker days.

PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG calls, 1 fold, UTG+2 calls, 1 fold, MP2 calls, 2 folds, Button calls, 1 fold, Hero checks.

Flop: (5.40 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets, UTG+2 calls, MP2 folds, Button calls, Hero raises, UTG calls, UTG+2 calls, Button calls.

Turn: (6.70 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero bets, UTG folds, UTG+2 folds, Button calls.

River: (8.70 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button checks.

Final Pot: 8.70 BB

Thoughts on all streets.

I think I missed a bet on the river.

Flop is pretty spewy. You have a 1 card gutshot and bottom pair on the flop, not enough equity to be pumping. Turn check and hope for a free card. Bet the river.

don't raise the flop. you have nothing.

when you finally make your hand, betting out is definitely better than checking it down.

two things of note:

1) you spew on the flop
2) you are scared to bet the river, i guess because you dont know what to do when you are raised

good thing is, both of these things are easily fixable. nov session reviews!

When you evaluate that flop, you should realize immediately that your Q outs are fairly dirty and that you won't be able to handle a bunch of action if one should come. That's part of the reason why the flop c/r is so bad; you don't even have your normal number of safe outs on this board.

This isn't being results-oriented knowing that you did in fact catch a Q on the river and were unable to muster the courage to make a routine value-bet. You should have realized that a Q would be a problematic card from the very beginning.

You should be pumping this pot.

1.5 outs for a bdfd, 2 outs for another 8, 3 outs for a Q but it is discounted to 1 out for obvious reasons, and 4 outs fro the gutshot (its a full four because we hold the Qh, if the 9h comes we have a decent redraw).

Thats makes 8 outs giving us equity. So yeah explain please why I shouldn't pump this pot?
