Having a lot of fun with the advice of the 2+2 community
I posted a few questions as I am a newcomer to poker. Yesterday was the second time I went to a B&M casino, and used some of the lines that were suggested when my 35 suited cracked aces. I had a great time using "I had a feeling" "they were suited" and so on. I moved to the "hot seat" too. I gotta admit, it pays to have the table think you are an idiot.
Thanks for the advice. |

Funny thing is at the B&M casino they don't think you're bad when you say that, you're just one of them.

Yeah, it was hysterical. Some guy let another in for free in the BB when he held aces. The BB flopped 2 pair, and the guy said, "boy, I am glad I didn't raise, it just would have cost me more". I was like, yep, I agree. You never put any extra money in till ya see the flop. The entire table just nodded. Even the dealer.

It's amazing how often the "feeling" excuse works....
Once in a BM casino I had this situation at a NL table... 1/2 (don't remember the exact stacks) J9 suited (late position) raised to about 8. Everyone called except one guy. Flop came garbage but caught my Jack... I bet about 10, the other guy just called. The 9 came on the turn (rainbow). I bet another 10... the guy just called again. The river came another garbage. no flush or straight on the board. I bet another 10, the guy looks at me and pushes me all in. Since I was down to the last 10-20 bucks, I decided to pay him off~ I was thinking let's see your **** set you made on the river! He turns over garbage ...had one ace. and he goes on about how I could call about my two pair in a good natured way. I told him I had a feeling. And after I said that, he smiled and said, "Nice." No hint of embarassment~ pure respect~ LOL. Other things that seem to work are: Feeling lucky. ** is my lucky number. They were suited. I never fold XX hands. I was trying to pay you off. Hey it's just a game~! I love seeing the flops~ The general rule is: don't make any enemies at the table or inside the whole casino. It's bad business to bite the hand that's feeding you! |
