GLD is my biggest position at the moment.

I like GLD a lot. SSRI is my largest position and GLD is #2.

I know a lot of people are anti-precious metals, but I believe they are in a super bull market and are only in the first few innings of the ball game. I believe that silver is going to outpeform gold in the shortterm and that is why I bought SSRI. SSRI is considered to be the go to silver stock.

Western Union by a large measure. There are many things to like about this stock. It has a fantastic brand, a very wide moat, diverse currency exposure, and relies on the migration of labor to capital for growth, which is a trend that will remain strong for a long time. The price has been kept down since the spinoff by inordinate emphasis on the depressed US to Mexico market, but this is only 10% of the business. With the Dems in power and the Arizona court trouble behind them, this business should pick up in any event.
I do have a few concerns. First Data saddled WU with about $3 B in debt in the spin off process. This isn't a huge issue because of the enormous free cash flow of the company and the relatively low investment needed for growth, but I would prefer a cleaner balance sheet. There are also some concerns about competitors like Moneygram (which has partnered with Walmart) and from potential innovations like online transfers and the like. Given the customer base, however, I don't see the latter concern maturing for quite some time and, in any event, WU has the cash to make acquisitions. I think the stock will get a good pop as its P/E aligns with the industry (roughly 25) and thereafter can be counted on for around 15% growth compounded annually for the long term.

Equal amounts of VFINX and VIVAX. Basically for the same reason as Degen, but also because life doesn't presently allow time for serious individual stock research.

My largest position is BXL, but I might be selling it soon because many better investments have popped up. My favorite position is BCIS, which I might be adding more to soon.

UST - smokeless market still pos growth YoY, 6% divy when I bot it last year, 65% of market, premium branding and lower-priced product, big takeover target eventually. No cigarette liability. Growing wine division. Very smart large holders like Dave Dreman.
