I wonder what kind of effects this will have on donation trends over the next few days and weeks. On the one hand, people might have been saving their donations for today and we could see a decline. On the other hand, the attention this gets in the media (I hope) could spark more people to give Ron Paul a closer look and also cause people who support Ron Paul but were on the fence about donating to finally open their wallets.

Should be interesting.

Yes indeed. The average per day needed to reach $12 million for the quarter has nearly slashed in half just today! It was at $150k/day before today and is now at $86k/day.

There will also be a smaller money bomb November 11th for Veterans Day. Donations will probably be low for this week as people save up for then!

Hmm, CNN had a story up for a short time, but not anymore. Guess someone in charge noticed that and yanked it. Foxnews.com still has nothing. CBS nothing, ABC and NBC have stories though with NBC having an ok one:

So how do observers know that what a campaign reports as their fundraising totals are legitimate and not fabricated? I don't doubt the numbers that are coming out of today I am just genuinely curious how the numbers for all campaigns come out and are listed as believable/"facts".

Almost 70% of Minnesotans voted in 1998, a non-presidential year, for governor. Award-winning ads like the following helped bring out ~15% of usually-absent, unpolled Minnesotans, giving Jesse Ventura the nomination.

LOL at the current front page story at Fox News! A record breaking Texan is on the front page, but it's "Texas Snake Man, who spent 45 minutes in a tub with 87 rattlesnakes." What a joke.

Since when do you expect tabloids to cover actual news?
