Both have similar themes. Victor Sjostrom's acting is almost as good as Shimura's (though Sjostrom had been retired from acting for quite some time and had become a reclusive drunk) but Kurosawa must get the nod. Bibi Andersson is perfect in Wild Strawberries though. She understood her role so well and plays it beautifully. lol at house of sand and fog. such a bad movie. i cried when all the jedi were being killed in the most recent star wars.
