It's a free country, and you are allowed to have ideas that are generally distasteful to most people. As long as he was not causing trouble, there's no reason why he should not be allowed to play. I'm wondering how he/she would have handled themselves if there were a number of mixed minorities in their game (you didn't specify the mix of players).

I have a stereotype for these types, but it probably wouldn't tell you much about how they play poker.

A few months ago there was a thread about someone having a card cap that was offensive to most people (don't remember what it was, may have been a swastica). I'd be interested to compare attitudes about a swastica symbol card cap and these two playing in the game. Theoretically, there should be no difference. I suspect reactions differed greatly tho (maybe even mine, I'd like someone to dig up that thread if possible).

A Mexican flag isn't racist. His so called "expression of Aryan Philosophy" is.

And the display of a swastika is intended to be offensive. And is.

TT (or RR) how would your rooms handle this guy? Do your rooms have no abuse policies? Where I play they do but it usually is enforced with swearing or berating another player over how they play. Would you be able to do something just for the guys tatoos or would another player have to complain first? What would you do - ask the guy to cover up or leave?

Casinos generally can ask someone to leave for any (or no) reason. I would not ask a player to leave based on his tattoos unless there were complaints.

Not as stupid as it seems. Folks wearing unacceptable clothing will be asked to leave and correct it before they return (either exposing too much, or with offensive text or images). Someone with adequately nasty tats might have some problems in that regard. It may require long sleeves and a turtle neck to fix (or perhaps gloves and a veil, too).

Mr WT -
People grow up, they change, they realize they made mistakes in the past. Getting a tattoo that is offensive is a mistake that is not easy to change, its a red flag that there might be a problem but until there is an issue I generally just ignore it because it might just be a mistake from his past.

If the individual says anything bigoted or racially offensive I'd notify the floor and ask to have him removed, this type of customer is not in the best interest of the casino if he causes trouble but until that time comes (IF that time comes) he is innocent.

Takes more than a racist tat to get you thrown out of a poker room, they put up with a lot that other places won't

fwiw, if you are white and doing a long stretch in prison you either take it in the butt or join one of the white supremacist gangs. so, he might have had no choice. on the other hand, he very well could be hardcore white supremacist. we may never know.

[/ QUOTE ]

Assuming he was in prison, and also assuming that while there he was "forced" into a white supremacist gang, he could have easily worn long sleeves to cover up his tattoos last night if he wanted to.

You sound like you know about this stuff.
