I think you get looked up here unless he was bluffing himself.

yea i think thats a big part of why i did it. I think he's bluffing himself a lot here, and if not, i might still be behind to his slightly higher bitch-pair, so i need to get him off it. this is also a reason why my c/r isnt so big. i dont expect to get him off a real hand even with a big c/r, but it doesnt take much to get him off a [censored] pair.

dudes he never has trips or a boat given flop/turn action, come on now.

As for trips, I agree its very unlikely, but I don't agree with this assessment when talking about a flush.

But he could have a flush.

so what the hell does he have? i don't think he calls turn with a flush draw, unless maybe it's something like JhTh and even then i'm not sure. a big pair makes sense for flop/turn action, but i don't think he'd bet the river with a hand like that. so i don't know what he has.

I'm having a hard time putting villain on a range, but I wouldn't be totally surprised to see him have a flush, or a pair like TT/JJ (especially with a heart). Also possible is a bluff - most likely with JT - but it's a little tricky to put him on many drawing hands that missed and want to turn themselves into a bluff.

Combined with the strangeness of the river check/raise I think you get looked up light and fold few better hands. There could be some tendency of live players that I don't understand that makes this better than it appears (i.e. river check/raise only means the nuts or something), but without that context I don't like it.

I'd be a little surprised if he bet a weak pair for value, or turned it into a bluff against your line on this board. Your line doesn't look like it's leading to a fold unless you have something that his weak pair would beat anyway so there's not much value or fold equity of better hands.

In spite of all that I do agree with your reasoning about the size of the check/raise.

i think this is an overpair a ton of the time, so id make it slightly larger on the river. nothing else really makes sense, agree that boat is unlikely w/ no attempt to build pot, and surely a flush draw bets the flop.
