Default JJ button against Laggy player

villain hasn't gotten out of line. He's 28/17/3.8 with a river AF of just 1.5

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

SB: $56.65
BB: $47.50
UTG: $50.00
MP: $183.20
Hero (CO): $52.05
BTN: $38.70

Preflop: Hero is dealt (6 Players)
UTG folds, MP folds, Hero raises to $2.00, BTN folds, SB calls $1.75, BB folds

Flop: ($4.50) (2 Players)
SB bets $3.20, Hero calls $3.20

Turn: ($10.90) (2 Players)
SB checks, Hero checks

River: ($10.90) (2 Players)
SB bets $8.00, Hero ??

I dont really like the way you played this hand. You basically gave control of the hand over to villain postflop. Im reraising this flop against a laggy player pretty much every time since you have a pretty strong hand.

On the turn I like betting after he checks as he could easily have a medium PP and hes worried about your flop call. If he had a stong hand I expect him to bet again.

On the river I have to call this. He could be using the A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] as a scare card to push you off your hand.

I like how you played this, raising flop is horrible IMO, checking turn is good and I call river

Edit: To clarify, checking turn is good as we don't get any value and better hands never fold, and we can possibly induce a bet on river

[nit]it's just a raise dammit, not a re-raise![/nit]

i like call on flop, bet the turn.

As played, was he really betting w/ only a Kc? Maybe he already had the flush, I dunno - you shoulda bet the turn and this hand becomes MUCH easier to play.

i don't really mind calling the flop, but i don't mind raising it either. i'm not going to raise/fold it though. i like betting the turn. a lot of times villain is going to have a big club, so i don't want to get drawn on for free. i'm also not too worried about getting c/red by a stronger hand. other than a made flush, hands that beat you aren't going to take that chance i don't think.

we really don't want to play a big pot here, so we use our position. Villain could be playing tons of draws that he will check on the turn where his equity goes way down if he doesn't hit.
