"Insurance" and $6 or variable rakes? Sounds like the term "Home Game" should be used loosely. Been to a few of those, very low risk by the guys running it as they were cops and 1/3 of the players in the room were form the "brotherhood". Best advice- stay away from that game or don't look away from the dealer.

This isn't really as low risk as you may think. While in many places it may reduce the risk of a raid, if something does happen these people often stand to loose a lot more than if they were not police.
