"Insurance" and $6 or variable rakes? Sounds like the term "Home Game" should be used loosely. Been to a few of those, very low risk by the guys running it as they were cops and 1/3 of the players in the room were form the "brotherhood". Best advice- stay away from that game or don't look away from the dealer.

While in many places it may reduce the risk of a raid, if something does happen these people often stand to loose a lot more than if they were not police.
