This is the group rate or just a random individual rate? And was it per day or for the weekend?

245/3 = 82$ That's actually pretty low for Woods in the summer. Remember this is a monopoly.

I would get a rough number of people and actually call and negotiate over the phone, hemming and hawing etc. Maybe if someone with a lot of wampum points talked to them... How many would we pack per room?

When I stay go down, I usually priceline a rate at the Raddisson in New London. but that is 25 min each way, kind of defeating the purpose of a group trip.

There is a real good place on the road to woods down by the Rotary, I think it is called Cedar Park Suites or something. Their prices were much lower than woods and only 5-10 min away.

the last time we got a suite we got 6 ppl in there no problem. depends who minds doubling up in beds and who wants the couch, futon, or floor if you bring a sleeping bag. that cuts it down to 41 a night at woods. i think staying at woods is the best option if we're going to be there multiple days and not all have cars necessarily; we will be driving back and forth always to the offsite hotel otherwise and it'll be harder to meet up for impromptu badassery.

i just got back from 4/8 Land. It was insane. The pots were farkinghuge - $60 to $200+, avg probably $120. Junk was getting capped preflop 6-way with 3 of the best showing down any pair, ace high, etc. Lots of checkraising (often air) and lots of people hitting trips, since any two now play. And on the other hand, the wussies who "let the crazies do the betting"; this includes openlimping AJo in the cutoff, not putting in any aggression whatsoever with JJ and limping AKo UTG since they're all going to call anyway! (NTM flopping a set and being scared of the 3 diamonds)

I cleared 4 Bills in 16 hours but this couldve been more if I didn't promise to play the lucky Q9o a couple times and decide it was prudent to make other silly plays (something with K8o and another time with A8o, let's not talk about those since I folded QJo and KTo when out of position like I'm supposed to).

The first pot I won, so you get an idea: I have QTo in one of the blinds. 6 limpers or so. Flop's Q-9-4 two spades. I check, check to CO who bets, aggro BTN raises, I 3town, all fold exc. BTN 4bets, I call.
Turn 10, I bet/he call. River 5, I bet, he raises, I shrug/call. He shows 95o for the overconfident two pair. Ha sucka, fedex yellow chipps ovah here.

after tpk posts hula finals matchups today we'll get this puppy really moving.

here's a list of folks who are somewhat likely (at least) to be coming. confirm/deny? anyone else want to come out of the woodwork? speak up please.

dates are friday 18th may - sunday 20th may. some of us are coming down at various times on thursday potentially.

we'll need to start figuring out how many are staying for each night so we can get the hotel soon and also think of carpooling.
