i was playing with a drunk guy on a heater at the O and they cut him off. He threatened to leave (up a ton but it was going to lose it all eventually). I gave the floorman 10 bucks to tell the cocktail to bring him fake drinks (lime juice and tonic I think) and he fell for it and gave all the money back plus what was in his pockets

[/ QUOTE ] As opposed to the house, which would take advantage of them otherwise, and is the whole reason they serve free alcohol in the first place?

[/ QUOTE ] There's a fine line between serving a few drinks to loosen people up and someone being so drunk they can't make informed decisions. When someone crosses that line it should be the responsibility of the casino to step in and take control by not letting that person gamble anymore.

[/ QUOTE ] QFT. I do understand and at least somewhat agree with the point that casinos shouldn't allow gambling by totally intoxicated people. The casinos do have some level of responsibility in the most obvious of cases. But (at least where I've worked) this is usually the case... if a guy is just totally falling-down bombed they'll get him off the floor. There are a lot of marginal cases where someone may not necessarily be falling down drunk visibily, but be way above the legal limit. And this is a LOT of people. What if they've done a lot of drinking at the club and then come in to gamble? Then say there's a problem later on, say a DWI accident or someone losing a lot of money at the casino. Ultimately I think you have to make people responsible for their own actions at some reasonable point. It's your decision as to how much you're going to drink, or if you're going to drink at all. In a lot of houses you might notice that cocktail waitresses are hard to come by, that's not always an accident.
