New starting hand charts?
I am a winning player at .10/.20 2bb/100 40k and I am losing about .5bb/100 at .25/.50 10k. Very big swings...I assume its leaks in my game.
I still win more pots than i lose but it seems the wins are smaller than the losses. Once again leaks... The tables seem to get tight real quick and i was comfortable playing tag games but recently I seem to be having problems. Has anyone come up with a sshe starting hand chart for these new uber tight games? I find it hard to believe that 2 hand charts- loose and tight can account for the different degrees of each. It seems that very few loose tables exist anymore and tight is kinda general. In particular I mean the uber tight games. Yes I used the word "uber" I play slightly more loose than reccommended but I was able to make that up post flop. So yes I agree i need to play less hands. So here I am asking if the tight chart in sshe still is as valid as before? Do we need a couple tweaks? What's up Mason? |

Re: New starting hand charts?
It sounds like you anwered the question on your own in the last paragraph of your post. You have 50k hands in, and probably don't need a chart. Focus on your post flop.

EvilGenius,
If your playing on Stars I think I know you fairly well. I'd probably just say to tighten up a little bit but from what I've seen playing with you you are a solid player and maybe some of this is just game selection and adapting to the style of the table ur playing. Feel free to PM whenever as well. |

Re: New starting hand charts?
Yea you probably do know me as my name is pretty similar there. About the game selection I think you are right. I have the tendency to prefer the tighter tables as I understand the players and how they think. Plus I like testing myself against them. Not sure if i'm just on a downswing or what. I cleared a party $40 bonus the other day at the 1/2 tables and did ok made 14 in profit. I will be transfering that to stars as I dont have a 1/2 BR yet.
Adjusting to tables is something I have been working on. I think I am improving. I have lost most of the money on loose tables where my hands just havent been holding up lately. My problem with table selection is deciding when to leave when i finally have some reads and the table tightens up. I see a juicy 40-50 table and I leave for it and by the time PT kicks in its another 22... |

Re: New starting hand charts?
Wow! .25/.50 is ubber tight?? I haven't played at this level in about a year, but when I played those games were loose and soft. I didn't have to do much table selection to find a good game.

Re: New starting hand charts?
Evil,
Here's something for you to splash around with at those levels. Perhaps it will gain some commentary. I came accross it a while back. Early Position Raise first in > AA-TT,(99 & 88 in tight blind winning games), AKs, AQs, AJs, AK, AQ, Play > 99-77, ATs, KQs, KJs, (QJs, QTs, JTs, T9s, KQ in passive games) Raise against callers > AA-TT, AKs-AJs, AK, AQ Against a raise > call > AKs, AQs, AJs Reraise > AA-TT, AK Middle Position Raise first in > AA-66, AKs-ATs, KQs-KJs, QJs, JTs, AK-AT Play > 88-66, ATs-A2s, KQs-KTs, QJs, QTs, JTs, T9s AJ, KQ, KJ Raise against callers > AA-99, AKs-AJs, AK, AQ Against a raise > call > AKs-AJs, KQs Reraise > AA-TT, AK Late Position Raise first in > Pairs, Aces, 2 big cards 9 and up, > slowplay AA Play > 88-55(44-2 with limpers), A9s-A2s, KTs, K9s, QJs-Q9s, JTs-J9s, T9s, AJ, AT, KQ-KT, QJ, QT, JT Button Only > T8s, 98s, 97s, 87s, 86s, 76s, 75s, 65s, 54s, Raise against callers > AA-99, AKs-ATs, KQs, KJs, QJs, QTs, JTs, T9s, 98s, AK, AQ Against a raise > call > AKs-AJs, KQs Reraise > AA-TT, AK Against a raise and cold callers > call > JJ-22, AKs-A2s, KQs, KJs, QJs, JTs, T9s, 98s Raise > AA-QQ, AK I do agree with the above poster. Post Flop is where the game is played. |

Re: New starting hand charts?
Try switching to paradise .25-.50 and use the loose chart.
