It depends on the type of job you are looking to get. Most finance companies look for a base line GPA. For example, the options trading firm I just interned at was going through fall recruitment right now, so I got to see how it works. They threw out every resume with below a 3.3 GPA (higher for certain schools) without even reading them.

So you definitely need to keep your GPA up if you want to have a lot of opportunities right out of college.
