one thing we need to remember: money means next to nothing to the Yankees. just re-sign him.

big news out of new york:

According to the New York Daily News, Alex Rodriguez and the Yankees "have been discussing a deal for the past few days to keep the two-time MVP in pinstripes."
The Yankees were seemingly very clear when they repeatedly said that Rodriguez wouldn't be playing for them again if he opted out of his contract, but the newspaper suggests that they may have changed their mind while stipulating that agent Scott Boras is kept out of negotiations. Rodriguez reportedly "approached the Yankees through a third-party intermediary," but will "have to have person-to-person talks with the Steinbrenner brothers ... before a deal can be sealed."

if boras is not involved in the negotiations, there's no way ARod gets $350 million. moreover, it's really bad for Boras in terms of future clients, if it gets out that ARod had to negotiate with some other agent at his table, and down from what Boras must have promised him (or down from Yanks' last offer).

Arod isn't getting $350M anyway.

I doubt this goes down, Boras shouldn't/wouldn't remain absent and Arod doesn't seem likely to fire him.

I voted Drew Henson, he's poised to tap into that potential this season!
