Need help re: Caribbean Casino Resorts
[This is x-post from B&M where nobody responded... was hoping the MTT crowd could help out. Mods, plz remove if necessary.]
Hi all, Wife wants a vacation near a beach. I want a vacation near a casino. Sounds like a job for the Caribbean. Having not been there since I've started playing, I'm looking for suggestions about great vacation ideas there that a) keep wife happy, b) keep husband happy, and c) keep our four-year-old son happy. A family-oriented all-inclusive plan would be optimal. I've heard good things about Turks & Caicos, especially where being family/kid friendly is concerned. Any suggestions from the 2+2 gang? Thanks, Matt |

Re: Need help re: Caribbean Casino Resorts
By saying "casino", i think you need to specify whether a poker room is a requirement. If so, good luck finding what you are looking for in the Caribbean. You are better of going to Cali.

Yeah, poker room would be a requirement. Is poker really that scarce at caribbean casinos?

Re: Need help re: Caribbean Casino Resorts
just returned from turks and caicos, and while it was quite beautiful, we were not overly impressed with the whole experience. there is a casino, but from what i gathered it wasn't any where near the main resort/beach areas. we stayed at club med for the first part of our trip and it was only ok. buffet style meals and watered down drinks, but lots of activities and nice beach. no kids allowed. only heard second hand stories about the casino, and it didn't sound like it was worth the trip. also, meals and drinks away from the resort were quite pricey. jm2cents

What about Atlantis where they play the PCA? It looks sick on TV.

Check out St. Maarten
Not sure there's much for your kid to do beyond beach, however. Casinos only have limited poker and are overall laughably small, but hey you got beautiful beaches and little 2/5NL. St. Maarten Trip Report |

check out Aruba. I don't know if it's technically the Caribbean, but you'll find casino's and poker.

Re: Need help re: Caribbean Casino Resorts
As someone married 22 years who's kids are getting older I will offer you my best advice.
GO anywhere your wife wants, leave your computer at home and play with your son. Save the poker trip for a time with your buddies. Poker in the carribean is practically non existant. They get special licenses when the big tournaments come in but its just normal casino games the rest of the time. |

Re: Need help re: Caribbean Casino Resorts
Marriott has a resort with casino on St. Kitts including poker.
I believe there are two Marriotts on the island but only one has a casino so make sure you book the correct one. Where is St. Kitts you ask? It is east and a little south of Puerto Rico, an island shaped like a chicken leg from KFC. |
