Default Topic you should not be allowed to respond to and what do you know?

There have been many threads that get 100's of responses that I refuse to even open for various reasons. One of those reasons are if a poster is asking for advice on something that I am either very bad at, I have no clue, or both.

Then there are some topics that I feel I know quite a bit about some even enough to do and "ask me" thread about if it wasn't for the fact they'd be very boring.

Anyway EDF what do you know and what are you clueless about?

I should be banned from commenting on women, finances (ex - What is a good first car?), grammar, confidence issues or anything more than ABC poker.

I feel like I know quite a bit about concrete, The USAF, and some electronics(like TiVo, DVR). Actually my best attribute might be getting free stuff from DirecTV and some other places.

I know so much about so many things that the only thread in which I shouldn't participate is one in which posters are supposed to talk about topics to which they should not respond for lack of sufficient knowledge.

Yes, but surely if you opened such a thread you would then undoubtedly learn something that you didn't know before.

Take El D's very own thread in OOT about sex in public restrooms. I myself have no prior experience of having sex in a bathroom but I bravely opened that thread nonetheless. Now I feel much more secure if such a situation should present itself to me in the near future.

There have been threads I have opened with 100's of replies because I know they are the ones that get derailed and become interesting. some of them not all of them.

I sometimes decide on when/if to look at those threads with many replies based on the person who started it or the people who I constantly see responding to it or simply on what else I have going on at work.

As far as ELD's bathroom thread is concerned I havn't even opened it yet. But TBH it's a rarity for me to not open a ELD thread. Unless it's talking about fine places to throw some groceries down yoru throat in LA errr sumthin.
