My letter to stars
Hi,
Mostly I play NL now. The fact of the matter is that to me, NL and lhe are incompatible games. limit is for mouthbreathers and reprobates who think that drinking their own piss is entertaining. However, lately when I've been playing limit on stars, usually when I'm completely wasted or it's really late, I've been winning a lot. And this is pretty much unacceptable because somewhere subconsciously it makes me think that limit isn't such a bad game after all and maybe I can go back to it. I'd like to quash this once and for all because limit is for pederasts and child molesters and I am neither. As far as I can tell the easiest way for this to happen is for you to put me on a massive downswing whenever the chance arises that I feel the urge to play limit. This is for my own good, and thank you very much. |

Re: My letter to stars
Their response
[ QUOTE ] Hello Josh, Thank you for your email, although I'm sorry to hear that you are not enjoying the limit Hold'em games we spread. I can't recall anyone asking for their 'boomswitch' to be turned off before. Unfortunately like the fabled 'doomswitch', this doesn't exist. You will have to make your own bad luck. I recommend practicing playing poorly while sober for a few days. Once you have mastered this you should be able to keep it up while in an inebriated state. Studying the game can also help. Pay attention to how the exceptionally weak players play, and try to copy them. You may find some useful role-models in the lowest limit play money games. Make sure you play each hand incorrectly. Try raising as a bluff every time it is completely obvious that your opponent cannot fold. A great play here is to cap on the river with nothing even when there's no chance your opponents three bet is not a monster. Make sure to limp with monster hands in late position. *Never* raise at all if you are playing short-handed. If you have an awful preflop hand, make sure you are cold-calling raises with it whenever possible. Remember that the truly terrible players did not get where they are overnight. It may take you days and weeks of practice to emulate them. If this isn't working for you, you could try changing your password to something incredibly difficult to type while drunk to prevent the problem in the first place. I wish you the worst of luck in your future LHE endeavours - and you will be back to playing NLHE soon. [/ QUOTE ] ty MarkW |
